What We Do

The Sub-Regional Leaders Board sets a strategic context for collaborative working amongst public sector partners across Cheshire and Warrington.

The Sub-Regional Leaders Board provides strategic leadership for the development of sub-regional strategy whilst respecting the sovereignty of the individual member organisations providing public services across the sub-region. The Board seeks to identify and support opportunities where working collaboratively across agencies can deliver better results and better value, whilst actively promoting improvement to the economic prosperity, wellbeing and profile of the sub-region.

The Leaders Board provide a forum for consulting with other bodies on issues of common interest, providing strategic direction and focus on sub-regional matters for any relevant sub-regional commissions or related working groups that are established to develop and implement sub-regional strategy. The Board also provides a forum to endorse sub-regional responses to Government consultations and funding opportunities

Our vision for the sub-region is:

‘Cheshire and Warrington: The most diverse, forward looking, high performing economy in the UK, where the modern and traditional come together to create the best place to invest, live, work and visit’

Through this vision the aim is to deliver an excellent quality of life for citizens in Cheshire and Warrington, a vibrant economy through close working with the Local Enterprise Partnership and more effective, better value public services.

Our Priorities

The priorities for the Leaders Board are closely aligned with those of the LEP and of the individual partner organisations represented on the Board.

The vision and priorities of the Board are set out in its summary 'Strategy on a Page'. The current key priorities are supporting public service transformation in services linked to Community Safety and Justice and Health and Well Being. Strategic direction for this activity is provided by the Public Service Transformation (PST) Programme Board which comprises senior executives from a number of partner agencies and is currently chaired by Paul Hancock, Chief Fire Officer at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. Further information and updates on the work of the PST Programme Board can be found here.

Support to the Sub-Regional Leaders Board and Management Board is provided by the Cheshire and Warrington Programme Office.
